Dog Training

Welcome to Black Creek Retrievers

At Black Creek Retrievers, we specialize in providing expert training for your loyal companion, offering a comprehensive and hands-on approach to creating well-behaved and highly skilled dogs. Led by experienced trainer, Chase Wall, our mission is to develop versatile, healthy, and obedient dogs capable of excelling in both everyday life and specialized hunting environments. Whether you’re looking for basic obedience or advanced hunting skills, we tailor our training programs to meet the specific needs of your dog.

In addition to training for everyday hunting, we work with dogs to achieve prestigious titles, including the Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter, and Master Hunter titles. These titles are a testament to the level of skill, precision, and discipline your dog can attain under our training program.

Training Programs:

Basic Obedience (Approx. 4 Months): Our foundational training focuses on essential skills that are necessary for any well-behaved dog. Within four months, your dog will master commands such as sit, stay, heel, and come. Additionally, we work on proper socialization and building a strong bond between you and your dog. This will ensure they are reliable, obedient, and able to perform basic tasks in a variety of settings.

Advanced Hunting Skills (Approx. 6 Months): For dogs looking to enhance their skills in the field, our advanced training program introduces more specialized techniques. After about six months, your dog will be equipped to handle blind retrieves, force fetch, and other critical hunting tasks. We provide training in diverse and challenging environments, including ponds, fields, swamps, and other outdoor settings, ensuring your dog becomes proficient in navigating various terrain. Whether retrieving ducks from flooded ponds or working through thick swamp grasses, your dog will learn the skills necessary to perform in any condition.

Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter & Master Hunter Titles: If you’re aiming for prestigious titles, our expert training program will guide your dog through the necessary steps. From perfecting steadiness to complex marking and blinds, we cover all aspects required for success in these esteemed hunting trials. The Junior Hunter title is just the beginning, and once your dog has mastered those skills, we can progress towards the Senior Hunter and Master Hunter titles. Senior Hunter tests involve more challenging retrieves, increased distance, and better steadiness under pressure, while the Master Hunter title requires ultimate precision and reliability in the most demanding conditions. With my guidance, your dog will develop the skills and discipline needed to compete and succeed in these competitions.

Daily Work and Active Training: At Black Creek Retrievers, we pride ourselves on the active nature of our training program. I personally work with each dog daily, ensuring they stay engaged, healthy, and motivated. With a focus on high energy and physical activity, your dog will not only learn new skills but will also build strength, stamina, and mental agility. Training in natural environments such as fields and swamps allows your dog to develop the versatility needed to excel in real-world hunting scenarios.

Requirements:

  • All dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations and shots to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all animals in our care.

Cost and Commitment: The training program is priced at $600 per month, and we recommend committing to at least four months for basic obedience training. For advanced hunting skills or pursuing titles, the total duration can range from 4 to 6 months, depending on the dog's progress.

At Black Creek Retrievers, we’re dedicated to the success of your dog and the enjoyment you’ll both share in the field.
